infovizFireworks are nothing more than a combustion process – explosion of a pyrotechnic shell, which is carefully designed in terms of its composition, specific amount and ratio of various chemical substances etc., in order to achieve the desired acoustic and visual effect. Although fireworks can be an interesting and attractive spectacle, from an environmental point of view they do not bring anything positive and have many negative impacts.
The graphic below shows what specific chemical elements are used to achieve specific color effects. These are then released into the air during the firing and subsequent explosion. For example, concentrations of dust particles, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide etc., which are potentially harmful, are also increased.
